Helping Girls to Speak Up and Find Their Voice!

Coaches with "Hello, Bold Heart!" curriculum books

A new school year brings the excitement of new teachers, classmates, and classes — but it also brings the challenge of navigating stress, social pressure, and friendship conflicts. For elementary school girls, finding a place where they feel truly heard and seen isn't always easy.

That's where this academic year’s Girls on the Run curriculum, Hello, Bold Heart!, comes in!

Through deep discussions, girl-led activities, and movement, girls are inspired to share what’s in their heart and help others to do the same – all while being surrounded by supportive coaches and teammates.

During both our fall and spring season, teams will explore lessons topics which include:

  • Explore Your Emotions
  • Bold Sharing
  • Empathy
  • Friendship Conflict
  • Bold Listening

The thoughts, feelings, and ideas inside a girl's heart matters, but can be hard to understand or communicate without practical strategies. Lesson 5 in the curriculum helps them build these self-reflection skills and have fun doing it -- with GLITTER! 🤩 Whether it's moving their bodies or pausing to watch the glitter in the bottle settle, girls can 'take a heart moment' to better understand what's inside their hearts.

One of our greatest resources is our coaches, who have seen firsthand how a GOTR lesson can change a girl's life. We invited some of these incredible coaches to explore the Hello, Bold Heart! curriculum and share their thoughts. Here's what they had to say:

This curriculum truly couldn’t have come at a better time for this generation.” - Coach Aliyah

“I’m excited for this curriculum because it digs into some of the heavier aspects of girlhood, like managing difficult feelings and learning how to stay true to yourself even when that means being on your own, while still maintaining the upbeat and positive tone that makes GOTR special.” - Coach Andrea

It gives girls meaningful practice in confidently sharing their voice and heart. Girls learn the balance of listening to others and encouraging them to share, too.” - Coach Kaci

We are grateful to The William H.-John G.-Emma Scott Foundation for investing in this new curriculum that will teach hundreds of girls to boldly share their thoughts, ideas, and feelings, even when they're nervous -- during the 2025-26 school year and beyond.

You can help them discover the power of listening deeply, showing empathy, and helping other girls feel brave enough to speak up too.
