In Richmond’s East End, something powerful is taking shape. A brand-new Girls on the Run team—created through a partnership with Peter Paul—is opening doors that many girls in this community have never had access to before. Here, girls from Armstrong Renaissance, Peter Paul, and surrounding neighborhoods come together not just to run, but to find their voice, their confidence, and each other. It’s a joyful, long-awaited spark of opportunity—and it’s already transforming what’s possible for these girls.

There’s something special happening after school at Lakeview Elementary in Colonial Heights — something filled with laughter, energy, teamwork, and a whole lot of confidence. This spring, Girls on the Run of Greater Richmond celebrated its first full year at Lakeview, and the impact was nothing short of heartwarming.

"When a Girls on the Run participant crosses the 5K finish line, she confidently raises her arms, takes a deep breath, and celebrates the achievement with her team, family members, and friends. As we reflect on the last year, this experience aptly describes how we feel at Girls on the Run of Greater Richmond."

Girls on the Run Greater Richmond Celebrates 10 Years of Empowering Girls with "Limitless Potential" Event

Girls on the Run of Greater Richmond, an after-school program that gets girls running and inspires individuals of all abilities to recognize their unique strengths, has announced empowerment programming for the school year, along with a panel event to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
